About the Artist
It is hard to put into words the exquisite beauty of Iva's paintings, which is probably why she paints instead of writes. She is a poet in color. I have had the benefit of being both a student in her classes as well as someone who has hired her to work as an artist. I am also the proud recipient of her artwork and have many pieces in my home. I try in every way to get her images into the world.
It is not often that one sees an artist with this caliber of talent who can also teach students and allow people to tap into their artist within. I have been lucky enough to be in a room with music playing guided by the magical instructions of Iva as I allow my inner painter to be free. It is this freedom that Ms. Milson's work gives to the student as well as anyone who views her paintings.
Artist Statement:
" My art incorporates my perceptions, realizations, relationships, and spirit. Initially the art was a vehicle I used to break old patterns in thinking; it has evolved into expressing my most deep inner stories on canvas like ‘Red Galoshes’.
" When communicating on canvas, my goal for my works are to heal the heart, mind, and spirit: Unify, transform, and nullify negative experiences. My dream is to inspire people to use art as prescription to life’s ills."
